Introducing Sequen AI

Today Sequen AI comes out of stealth. Our first 5 customers saw an incremental revenue lift of over $162M in just 7 months with the world’s first Behavior Design Engine for the Enterprise.

How did they do it? The answer isn't magic—it's math.

TikTok, Instagram, and Netflix thrive on dense user data. This gives them the volume and granularity to understand the relationships between humans, applications, actions, and outcomes. These sequences of events are where the math lies.

It allows these platforms to understand emerging trends, patterns, and the familiar sequences of events to better predict what you may like. Gently shaping user behavior, nudging you toward decisions before you've even realized it. These algorithms are why TikTok’s “For You” page feels like it’s for you. Or why Instagram’s discovery page knows what you like before you do.

This is not personalization—which is mostly a rear-view understanding of user attributes—but behavior optimization. It's the modern equivalent of a subtly persuasive friend, offering exactly what you want, precisely when you need it. These services understand that billions of event sequences from other users are a much better predictor of what to show you and where you might go next, than knowing your first name or the last time you were on the site. They are designing behavior based on the most likely mathematical outcomes. This is a ranking problem.

What if you don't have billions of daily interactions like hyperscalers? Most companies lack the data volume and rely on historical snapshots rather than living insights. Enter Sequen and our foundational Large Event Models (LEMs).

Just as LLMs revolutionized language, LEMs revolutionize user behavior prediction. They're specialized neural networks trained on billions of user interactions, finely tuned to anticipate the next move. Think of it as giving each user interaction the richness of billions of prior events. The way ChatGPT predicts the next word in a sentence, LEMs predict the next event in a sequence. Suddenly, you're not playing catch-up; you're setting the pace.

But prediction alone is yesterday’s game. Sequen shapes behavior rather than just observing it. Our reinforcement learning (RL)-first platform continuously adapts in real-time (<25ms), leveraging context and rewarding actions that drive meaningful business outcomes—whether increased revenue, deeper engagement, or higher conversion rates.

Here’s where it gets extraordinary: our platform learns from everyone, without ever mixing data. Think of it as federated brilliance. Your data remains secure, your insights remain proprietary, yet your results benefit from network-wide learning. No silos, no leakage, just collective intelligence at scale.

Today, Sequen offers three Behavior Optimized APIs for Recommendations, Search, and Discovery.

To be clear, this is not just AI retrofitted on a legacy Search & Recommendations platform. No more fixed pipelines with fragmented infrastructure. Sequen provides a single endpoint that handles query understanding, ranking, and personalization adaptively using LEMs and memory models via a performant API (<25ms).

This is rethinking relevance from first principles with AI-native infrastructure, providing a more relevant user experience and greater business outcomes. We’ve built something impactful—a technology powerful enough for the giants, yet agile enough for everyone else.

In the years ahead, we believe every consumer-facing application will be behavior optimized. For Sequen customers, that future is already here.

So today, we’re officially stepping out of stealth, announcing the world’s first Behavior Design Engine as well as our seed funding led by Ian Sigalow at Greycroft , with participation from Jake Cohen at Vinyl VC and Wesley Barrow at Correlation Ventures.

Finally, none of this would be possible without the brilliant team beside me—my co-founders Mo Afshar and Alexander Thom —and the early believers who backed us. Thank you.

We invite forward-thinking enterprises to join us in the next evolution of AI—shaping the future, one interaction at a time. The torch is lit. Let’s carry it forward together.
